Events
Having such an extensive repertoire Harmony is able to perform large and small concerts throughout the year. We perform at St Georges Summer Serenade and Christmas concerts but also are available for other events such as weddings, good causes etc. We have taken part in festivals in Farhnam and Chepstow. We regularly join up with other choirs and musicians to raise money for charity and support Macmillan Cancer Support.
In 2013 the choir took part in the music festival Bratislava Cantat where we performed in wonderful venues around the city alongside choirs from Slovakia, Estonia and Latvia.
In 2015 the choir visited Newbury’s twin town Eeklo just outside Ghent in Belgium. We joined musicians from the town and put in a concert in the fabulous St John’s Chapel of the Psychiatry. We were also performed in Ghent Cathedral and around the city drawing large audiences of visitors and passers-by.
Christmas is a very busy time and the choir can be found singing carols in the Kennet Centre, Camp Hopson, Parkway and Market Square. A real highlight has been to sing carols at Highclere Castle.
